2024 Dates:
Camp has one main session of 7 weeks from June 22nd to August 10th in 2024. We offer a half-season option for first-time campers going into grades 3, 4 or 5 from June 22 to July 20 with the option to finish the full season together with everyone. There is a “special magic” to full season camping, making a summer at Wah-Nee more powerful and significant—it’s the magic of time to deepen and strengthen friendships that last! There is one Visiting Day on July 20th.

Tuition:
Our rates are incredibly competitive—Wah-Nee offers top-grade facilities and programs at very fair pricing. New families should contact us for rates. We are a no-tipping camp as well! Every summer has early sign-up options for our families that offer excellent savings.

Rookie Days:
We will be announcing Rookie Days for Summer 2024. Please let us know that you are interested in joining us for one of these!

Other Optional Costs of Camp:
Baggage - Each summer we recommend a company that can take your child's trunks and duffels directly from your home straight to camp just before the season begins. Their charges are not part of tuition, and are optional. Some folks drive their gear to camp before summer starts.

Clothing - We are not a uniform camp, but do require some camp tee shirts and athletic wear for each camper. The required components come to around $350 per camper. We use Amerasport as our official outfitter, and you can link to their web site from here to see the selections.

Trips - All trips and travel are included in our tuition except for our 3-day, 2-night Senior Trip (for 9th and 10th grade campers). 11th grade campers go on an overnight trip to Newport, also not included in tuition.

Extra Lessons/Tutoring - Private lessons are available above & beyond those we provide as part of our regular program for those who wish to pursue a deeper immersion in tennis, soccer, baseball, basketball and other sports or specialty areas. 5 or 10 lesson packages are available where we carefully match a camper with one of our pros. Please inquire. Tutoring is available in reading and math for those families who choose it. All private lessons and tutoring sessions are done at "in-between" times that do not interfere with regular scheduling, so no camper misses anything!

Camper Demographics:
Our campers come from all over the U.S., the majority from Northeastern states like New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Pennsylvania. Many travel to us from Florida, Arizona, Texas and California and a good number come from abroad (Spain, France, Chile, Russia, etc.) There is no predominance by any one area or locale. We create our own demographic--we are Wah-Nee!!

Directions to Camp Wah-Nee:
Wah-Nee is within easy reach of New York City (2 hours or less) and Boston (2-1/2 hours). Ultra convenient!

From New York: Take the Hutchison River Parkway to 684 (towards Brewster) to 84 East (towards Danbury) to Route 8 North. Follow to Exit 45 - Kennedy Drive. Left off the ramp, left at the bottom of the hill onto Winsted Road. Go 1 mile to a white church, make a right onto Newfield Road. Clock 4.9 miles, left onto Wah-Nee Road. Go up and over the hill. Camp is on your right. Park in the front lot and take the short walk to our Main Office. If 95 (New England Thruway) is more convenient for you, take to Exit 27A - Route 8 North and follow as above. Both routes take about the same travel time.

From Boston: I-90 West to Exit 3, follow signs to 202 South, crossing into Connecticut. Right onto N. Granby Rd. - Rte. 189/20. Follow all signs to stay on CT-20. Left onto Barkhamsted Rd/CT-219. Follow to CT-318, right onto Saville Dam Rd. Stay on CT-318 to US-44, right turn onto New Hartford Rd (US-44). Go 4.5 miles and make a left onto Rte 263 in Winsted. Follow 263 and stay straight through Winchester Center--stop following 263 when you come to the white church, and go straight past the town green and fire station. Less than 3/4 mile from this small town center make a right onto Wah-Nee Rd. Camp is up and over the hill on your right.

Note to drivers: The sign for Wah-Nee Road is often missing. Please look for a steep downhill turn if the sign is not there. Also, many GPS systems mark camp early on Wah-Nee Road. Keep going straight, up & over the hill--camp will be on your right!! Thanks!

Please call for directions from other areas.
